Failpire #1 – Page Turner and Nikki Parker

July 6, 2008

Sadly the show was not saved on stickam because we crashed at the 45 minute mark. We think we have a failsafe in place for the next show, so even if we crash we’ll have it saved. Also Stickam is going to try Monday to see if they can catch the show hidden in the nets and recover it. – Cross your fingers –

In the mean time you can at least see thees two gorgeous blonds saying goodbye.

Here’s what you missed on the show :

* True Blood the vampire show, 5 episodes featuring our dreaded beauty Page Turner
* Glam God A new reality show
* Jamie’s Crying – with Nikki Parker in an up coming video
* Life as a Lobster Written by Page – Thanks for my copy and I’ll get that Lobster illustration done soon

Snagged a few quick pics after the show, here’s one just to wet your whistle folks

More Shooting!

June 16, 2008

Well last weekend was a lot of fun, stressful as all heck but a lot of fun. So I’m doing it again! Well more or less, I’m crewing up with a different team and I’m going to set off to do a few really quick shorts (30 seconds to 2 minutes).

Actually I’m hoping to start a new momentum with my group to keep us shootin and pumping out shorts every other week. One Week we’ll gather and write and the next week we’ll shoot.

So right now I have two super shorts (and I’m waiting on some others to come in from another writer) and my goal is to shoot Saturday.

In general the plan is to shoot weekends, and only occasionally during the week (most likely Friday evenings/nights)

Actors: link me to your most recent pictures, and let me know what your availability is like.

Writers: Writers can be based anywhere, during the week I’ll post a list of a few details we have; such as actors slated to work and a location if possible. Send me your 1 or 2 page sketches and if we can do it, we’ll shoot it!

Crew: If you want to help, please let me know when you’re available and what jobs you’re looking to do. and it doesn’t stop with just on set production, if you’ve got some post specialty, FXs, motion graphics, editing skills let me know.

any experience levels, this is about having fun and getting things done.

All videos will be featured on my youtube channel, so at least a couple thousand people will see if for sure (if not more)

This Weeks Projects:

Right now this is what we have

Location :

Woods – yup that’s it just some general wooded areas, we’ll be shooting outside. Go crazy.

Actors (we have):

Sam Proof, Brian F, Ryan M
(if you saw my video ‘The Wild Thing‘ it’s the three main characters)

Amy V. (A skinny short haired red head)

Actors (we’re casting):

Female Parts:

Tall Girl – Muscular a big plus, goth/sci-fi wardrobe, 6’2″+ Menacing – Role is for a fake trailer I want to do for a sci fi concept. (any ethnicity)

Fairy – 5′ or UNDER, ultra tiny, skinny girl. Fair Skinned a plus, but open to any ethnicity. Tank Girl/goth/sci-fi clothes.

HillBilly Girl – Average Size girl (5’6″ give or take) with own costume along the lines of Daisy Duke/Mary Anne (Gilligan’s Island) for part with some lines.

Male Parts:

Sci Fi Soldiers – Honestly I’m asking for a lot here, but on the odd chance you have some kind of cyborg, robot costume that’s menacing I can use you (most likely send me a pic)

Monster – I need someone with a monster suit, cannot be a copyrighted character.

6/14/08 Recap – Cowboys, Mexican Doctors, No Sleep and more

June 15, 2008

This all really starts Friday. I’d ended up going in to work late, like 3pm late. I took a half day so I could take one final improv class with my 201 group. I hadn’t been in class with them since the previous Friday, and though I’d mad up two classes (letting my continue to 301) I wanted to do one more class with them before our graduation performance.

Friday at 6pm I get a text from Jake telling me he’s heading over to the 48 film fest to get our mission. When next I hear from him, I find out our genre is Musical or Western. We’re both dead set on doing a western, thank god.

After work I head over to his place and from about 9pm to 1am people spit ball some ideas and I write a 5 page script called ‘No Country Fried Steak Men’ for lack of a better title (at this point I’d just call it ‘No Country for Men’) but I don’t know if the guys have already done the title screen, so whatever.

Saturday at 8:30am Jake, Sean and myself meet for coffee and to figure out a shooting schedule, a shooting schedule that has me leaving our location at 4pm so I can go do my improv show.

Shooting starts way after schedule, as we’re still in Hollywood running around getting things at 10am and not 40 minutes away in the forest we’re shooting in, and when we do get there we’re waiting for the camera to show up. Once we start shooting things seem to take shape and go pretty fast. I’m the villain, the beautiful curves in the picture are Kelsy the hero.

So by 4pm I’m still on location and we’re pushing things to get a few last shots of me, and Schleppy who’s my ride back to my show. I end up cutting my own death scene, telling them to just cut to black and make a gun shot.

So we ride back to LA and actually make record time, enough to run back to my place. I get changed and we go wait at the theater. My class shows up and we do a practice session and then start the show at 6. (thanks to Schleppy there’s actually footage I’ll cut up and put on Youtube later).

If I remember correctly our audience suggestion was ‘Flip Flop’ we then do a word association pattern game
to find more words, themes and ideas to then build scenes off of. At some point in the game some one says bad doctors and mexico, something like that. So I build a scene with my partner in which I give him a compliment and then tell him some really bad news. I could probably talk alot about improv on a clinical level but I doubt it’s that interesting. I’ll get the video up, that’ll be more fun

Anyway it’s been a long ass day, even though it’s the day after I’m still tired and still not done.

Today I’m heading over to the ADR guy to do some voice over work for the film. Hopefully I’ll be able to put this up on youtube after the film fest is over.

Back To a Great Start

April 25, 2008

It’s been a while since I did anything on youtube, so much so that people had been asking if I was ever coming back at all. But I’m back, and with my first video back (on my channel – not to discount Tigger) Bam – I’m featured (on People & Blogs) yippie!

And for anyone who hasn’t caught on yet, yes I’ve also recently been accepted as in to the Youtube Partner program (not that I think much will come from it, but who knows).

Check out the featured Truth or Dare Tag Game video as well as the first Response from Littlepandaexpress (below) with her Results from being tagged (more…)

Be a Part of the Tigger Talks Team

April 17, 2008

Ok folks so here’s the thing. I’ve got lots and lots of projects, and I keep coming up with more and more. The problem is that I only have so many hands, only have so many hours in a day.

So – I’m looking for other people that want to do something creative, want to have fun and want to build something together. So from time to time I’ll be posting here and where ever else to see who’s up to doing stuff. With help from my friend Ravenlaughs(aka Dan – scratch that reverse it). Dan will basically help me out with organizing and essentially being the glue to my atom smasher. Wait, what?

Point being Here’s Project one.
Something many of you are probably already familiar with TiggerTalks

If you’re unfamiliar TiggerTalks is a Feline Phenomina Fenomina, who’s debut video chronicling the pregnancy of Young Miss Jamie Lynn Spears garnered over 135K views.

I’m looking for writers/researchers to pick up daily gems in the entertainment and gossip world and write a vlog for our furry champion to put out. Vlogs should be short, fast paced, clever and the height of the haha factor.

Topics of interest should compete with topics from sites such as, What the buck Show, joeblow, etc.

Wanted :
3 to 5 Writers (video scripts)
2 to 4 Blogger/Researchers
to find interesting stories daily to be used in an accompanying blog site and possible write video scripts as well.
1 to 2 Editors(video)
to help with video segments.
1 or 2 Motion Graphics –
for quick graphics, for examples modifying pictures of celebs with the howdy doody mouth… Check out the
Gary Gygak video for an example

If you’re interested in being a part of the Tigger Talks team send me your email info and some quick samples of your humor in script format (preferred). Right now all I can promise is a screen credit. But if we cross our fingers and keep things up, maybe in the future we can each get a shiny dollar from it. send email to samsaysstaystrong at gmail dot com

Sketchies 2

March 2, 2008

Production Banner

Thursday we cast the last of our characters and this morning we shot. 3 pages of material. Not an over bearable shot list for a one day shoot. We managed to pull it off in about 3 hours. The boys are back at their place editing their little hearts out (I hope) and by Monday we’ll have this little bastard online.

There will be an extended version, but for the Sketchies contest we’re whittling down the the vision to under 3 minutes.

Here’s Sketchies 2 behind the Scenes:

I have to say I’m apprehensive. Brian is off editing right now, and I’m almost scared to see what comes of it. This time I kind of focussed on just acting and some production aspects. Brian wrote and directed this, with a few notes from me. I meant to be a little more producerly, but also I just wanted to get it done and we kept the shoot moving right along. So I had no complaints.

The day basically went off without a hitch. The one large exception being the weather. we expected the sun to come out, and held off shooting till 10 when we gave up and just hoped everything stayed consistent. Which it did. But I fear this means everything will be too dark.

Either way I think this short is going to be pretty awesome, even beyond being part of sketchies. It should catch some fans I think. And we’re going to cut a longer version eventually, since Sketchies maxes out at 3 minutes. So keep an eye on my youtube channel SamProof cause ‘The Wild Thing’ will be up Monday.
to see the newest vids as they’re posted.
